INSULIGN® Polymer Insulator From PLP

CBM is pleased to announce that PLP has completed the entire portfolio of polymer line post insulators to complement the previously released IP-51-4F line post insulator.  This new product offering is a complete replacement for porcelain or composite line post insulators with ours being ANSI C29.7 and C29.18 compliant. PLP insulators offer several advantages.

First, PLP polymer line post insulators are lightweight with high impact resistance.  The polymer insulators are half the weight of porcelain and can travel in the back of the truck without chipping and breaking.  

Second, PLP insulators are not only made in the USA, but manufactured in CBM’s backyard in Rogers, AR.  PLP will be adding several new machines to support the Polymer Line Post Insulators launch in 2023.  

Lastly, the insulator neck designs are ideal to pair with PLP ties; fit and function are not a problem when you get your insulators from your formed wire tie supplier.

CBM account managers are especially excited that this release includes the IP-51-2F.  This allows our Co-op customers who have had to use porcelain insulators previously to have a PLP solution  that eliminates the hassle of porcelain.  The IP-51-2F is a direct replacement for the porcelain 25 kV F neck line post insulator, and based on recent customer feedback we expect our customers to get this on order soon to replace porcelain.
